Synopsis
The Presidential Fitness Test is every middle schooler's nightmare. For one self-conscious girl, it only worsens when she gets her period. Between bullies, school expulsion, and the terrifying mechanics of a cardboard tampon, she scrambles to survive the blood sport that is adolescence.

Julie Hoang is a Vietnamese-American writer and director based in Los Angeles. Rooted in sketch comedy, she creates scrappy, hyperbolic work that transforms everyday absurdities into chaotic yet resonant moments of humor. She regularly writes and performs at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater, and her filmmaking brings that same energetic lens to the screen. Her latest short, Cardboard was made in collaboration with a team of women-led key creatives.
